Bunnahabhain Distillery was founded in 1881 on the Isle of Islay, Scotland by William Robertson and the Greenlees Brothers. It is currently owned by Distell Group Limited. Bunnahabhain Distillery is known for producing lightly peated single malt Scotch whiskey. The whiskey-making process includes using tall, onion-shaped stills, malted barley, and a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks for maturation. An interesting fact about Bunnahabhain Distillery is that it is one of the few Islay distilleries that produces unpeated whiskey.
