Caol Ila

Caol Ila Distillery was founded in 1846 by Hector Henderson in Islay, Scotland. It is currently owned by Diageo. Caol Ila uses copper pot stills for distillation, malted barley for cereals, and primarily ex-bourbon casks for maturation. One important fact about the distillery is its peated whiskies have a lighter and more subtle smokiness compared to other Islay whiskies.
