Tomintoul Distillery was founded in 1964 in the village of Tomintoul, Scotland by Hey & Macleod and W. and S. Strong. It is now owned by Angus Dundee Distillers. Tomintoul produces single malt Scotch whisky using traditional copper pot stills, malted barley, and a mix of ex-bourbon and sherry casks for maturation. One important fact about the distillery is that it holds the record for producing the "The Gentle Dram", which is known for its smooth and gentle character.
